Doddington and Whisby Parish Council objected to the application 18/0575/HOUS, referring to the removal of two large trees, the size of the proposed development relative to its neighbours with accompanying blockage of light, the risk that the development may be considered as a separate dwelling in the future and the design of the proposal. Parish Council is still of the opinion that this application is overdevelopment of the site and too close to the neighbouring property. Although these objections were taken into consideration, the decision of the committee was to approve following recommendation by officers.
Parish Council notes that the ground floor footprint for this new application is identical to that which was approved in 2018. This new application appears to ask for permission to vary the conditions which were granted by changing the internal layout of the ground and first floors. It is noted that the document provided as the Existing Ground Floor plan (A180940000) shows the layout as it was before approval in 2018. The new application also provides for a change to the external finishing materials.
It is noted also that this application is part-retrospective with a start date given as 1st December 2019. Parish Council would like assurances that this development is not being presented as a ‘fait accompli’ and to request that monitoring of the existing development by NKDC planning officers is maintained in line with the approved application 18/0575/HOUS prior to any decision being made regarding to this current application.
